A distinctive Sheffield plate wine coaster

An unusually deep coaster with a mahogany base at the bottom of a large, stepped bowl. The upper half of the bowl is decorated with a reticulated ring, and the top is subtly gadrooned. While originally plated with silver, years of wear have uncovered the copper beneath. It is a lovely and very functional accessory.
