This is a rare pair of silver Stuart crystal cufflinks, or cuff-buttons.

These Stuarts have an Asscher-type cut to the stones, which have been closed-set over a pale rose colored foil; there are scrolled gold cyphers and a love token visible under each of the four crystals.

The stones measure approximately 9mm each, and are crimped at the silver bezels.

The cufflinks come in a fitted leather case.

These special cuff-buttons date from the late 1600’s, and are commemorative of Charles I of England who died in 1649. It is very interesting that these wonderful memento mori Stuart crystal pieces were only created in England.
