Stuart crystal jewelry is commemorative of Charles I of England who died in 1649.

It is rare to find a strand of pearls with a Stuart crystal clasp in silver, and these bronze hue baroque pearls (5.5 – 7mm) are elegant and lovely.

The stepped table-cut octagonal Stuart crystal is closed-set over a silver foil with a pink wash, a love token and very fine, scrolled gold cyphers (“MC”), all visible under the crystal.

The verso of the clasp is flat and sits well on the neck.

This beautiful necklace measures 17-1/2”, and the crystal measures 9 x 11mm.

This type of crystal work dates from the 1600’s; these wonderful memento mori Stuart crystal pieces were uniquely created in England.
