A remarkable pair of early Georgian earrings, in silver gilt, with a French swan hallmark on the stops of the back earwires.

Each earring is closed-back set with four individual flat-cut garnets forming a lozenge shape, the four garnets are surmounted by a table cut diamond set in silver at the center; these are set into the back of the earrings with a decorative scalloped edge.

There is small attached loop at the base of the front where a drop may be attached.

The backwires are hinged part way up the back, and have a strong stop on them.

There is a good click when the earwires clip into the back of the earrings.

These lovely earrings measure 5/8” from the earring top to the base of the lozenge.

French hallmarks, ca. 1740.
