NEWSLETTER - May 10, 2012

Before After
Our Spring Opening - - Before & after

In this month's newsletter we focus on new stock listings and on last weekend's Spring Opening. We're happy to report that, once again, the Opening was enormously successful. But even after selling nearly one hundred objects during the weekend, there are many fine, fresh pieces in the shop. In the first entry below, you'll see photos of the shop on Saturday morning, after which we'd like to show you a few of the star sales of the weekend. Next come our new stock listings, which will include furniture, paintings, jewelry, and smalls. Whether you were able to be here or not, we invite you to spend some time browsing. If you're persuaded to visit us, you'll also find our schedule for the remainder of the month and information about our next show, Rhinebeck. Of course, we have all of the usual diversion. We hope that you'll enjoy your visit.

Spring Opening

Our Spring Opening took place on May 5 & 6. We swung open the barn doors at 10:00 sharp, and within a few minutes the shop was bustling with more than two dozen avid shoppers, milling about our three showrooms and claiming bargains for themselves. When the weekend was over, nearly one hundred pieces had found new homes, and the shop looked as if it had been attacked by a giant vacuum cleaner. For a few BEFORE pictures, click on the picture.

Because our April buying trip yielded more than 150 new pieces and, since we'd set aside nearly half that number during the preceding months, there were hundreds of fresh antiques to tempt the shoppers who came to our Opening. To tease our readers even further, we published a photo of the carving above in our pre-Opening mailing. Now that the Opening is behind us, we'd like to share a picture of the armchair that bears it as a front stretcher. For that picture as well as shots of several more favorites, click the carving.

Now that our Spring Opening is behind us, we've taken all of the spare minutes between daily trips to Brimfield to get our May newsletter online. Knowing that many of our readers are anxious to see our new stock, we've listed nearly two dozen pieces - furniture, jewelry, and an assortment of smalls. Click on the picture to have a look.

The Back Page

One of the pleasures of our openings is walking through our showrooms sniffing and looking at the flower arrangements that Jan creates from supermarket flowers and cuttings from our own gardens. We'd like to share three of this year's best arrangements. Click here.

We hope you've enjoyed this month's newsletter. If you find anything here that you think you'd like, please email or call. We're at Brimfield this
week, so our response time might be slower than usual, but we'll get back right away. Thanks for reading.
