This month's news
The big news this month revolves around our show schedule. The May Rhinebeck show was quite good for us, although not all dealers were as fortunate as we were. Two weeks later, at our first appearance at Marvin Getman's beautiful show at Elm Bank in Wellesley, we sold across the board: furniture, paintings, jewelry, and smalls. (For pictures and more information about these two shows, click Rhinebeck or Elm Bank.)
We're sad to report that Rhinebeck Summer Magic - the July show - has once again been cancelled. The reasons are complicated, but the summer show has never been as successful as the spring and fall versions. We believe that a combination of concern over the summer heat and waning enthusiasm by dealers and buyers both contributed to the decision.
Our shop sales, both in Conway and through our website, have been constant since our May Opening. Our shop is now open most Sundays through mid-September and anytime by appointment. We hope you'll come by.

New stock listings

Sunset Over the SeaHans Kramer's large seascape "Sunset Over the Sea" is but one of the paintings we list this month. Our new listings also include furniture spanning three centuries, a choice selection of period jewelry, and some inexpensive smalls. Click on the picture to have a look.

In October 2010 we enjoyed a journey across western Europe by train. We've reported on our experiences in London, Bruges, Zurich, and Venice. Click on the Duomo to share a few memories of our final destination of the trip: our favorite Italian city - Florence.

Our next show

The Back Page

The Cloisters in Manhattan, a separate and very special branch of the Metropolitan, houses many of the best medieval pieces in the Met's collection. The photos of the cloister at Santa Croce in Florence, above, suggested to us that we might share two photographs taken during our recent visit. Click here for a look at this idyllic spot.

We hope you've enjoyed this month's newsletter. If you see anything that you think you'd like, please email or call. We'll be home or nearby until Tiverton, so feel free to call or stop in on any Sunday.
