NEWSLETTER - September 12, 2012

  In the air
In two weeks we'll be flying once again over the Atlantic Ocean on our way to England for our annual fall buying trip. We've already purchased several things from dealers and pickers in the UK; these things will be a part of the shipment that should arrive in Conway in mid-October, in time for our Fall Opening on November 10 and 11.

Our upcoming travel has inspired a look at photographs of our past travels in Europe, and this newsletter contains a dozen or so of our favorites. It also lists just over a dozen pieces not previously seen on this website.
We've devoted many hours to the maintenance and improvement of our home. It now has two new coats of stain on its exterior, and we've made necessary repairs to our front door and garden fence before they, too, were freshly painted. We're now in the middle of the kitchen renovation we referred to last month. The bathroom has been moved and needs only its new shower, a job scheduled to begin later this week. This month's Back Page is a picture of the current state of our kitchen expansion. Walls, plumbing, ceilings have been removed, and the space is now visible. we have only two weeks before we depart, so we'll return home to more chaos.
We hope that you'll take a few minutes to browse the links below. We hope that you'll find  something - a story, a picture, or an antique - that catches your fancy. Perhaps we'll hear from you.
This month's new listings
include three interesting antiques for the table, five Dutch biblical tiles in manganese glaze, several items of period jewelry, and this great bible box. Click on the box for this baker's dozen plus one selection.

A Few Favorite Photos from Our Trips

to England and Beyond

Snowshill church

Since 1993 we've been able to travel to England to acquire new stock for our shop and shows. Although we work long days and drive great distances, our trips are, as you might imagine, enjoyable. We've seen much of England and a little bit of Europe as well. To say that we feel privileged is an understatement.

We've kept a written journal of our travels and, especially since the advent of good, affordable digital cameras, have kept pictorial records as well. This month we've assembled a little slide show of some of our favorites among the photographs we took while visiting various parts of England, Ireland, Italy, and Belgium. Just click on the photograph, above, of the Cotswold village of Snowshill to begin the journey.
