NEWSLETTER - December
You may have noticed that our December newsletter is
coming out in November this year. Well, we've watched the
big guys (Walmart, Target, Costco, etc.) begin their Black
Friday sales on Monday, and we've seen more than one Cyber
Monday sale that began on Thursday, so we thought we'd
beat the rush by announcing our December specials in
This newsletter contains links to two pages of listings -
the first with more than two dozen pieces appropriate for
gift giving, the second with small antiques that have been
on line for a while that we've marked down by 30% or more.
Of course, there are many more items on sale in our shop,
and we'll be open on the next four Sundays.
In addition to these links, you'll also find a brief
pictorial from our recent visit to Rome and some
up-to-date pictures of our showroom - and all of our
regular features, too.
We hope you'll take a few minutes to have a look.
New Listings for
This month we list some of the most gift-appropriate smalls,
paintings, and jewelry in our inventory. In this newsletter
you'll find more than two dozen pieces - many priced at less
than $50, and several others for under $100. If you're
looking for something very special, you'll find a handful of
spectacular pieces of jewelry. All of these pieces are
subject to a 10% discount and include free shipping.
Of course, as the photograph illustrates, there are
additional fresh items on display in our shop. If
you're still looking for gift - be it a stocking stuffer or
a pièce de résistance, you might want to click the
picture above or, better yet, stop in on some
2012 Special Holiday Sale
What if we were the only business in North America not
having a Holiday Sale? Unthinkable, right?
Right, indeed. So we've chosen more than two dozen appealing
smalls and reduced their prices by 30% or more. You can have
a look at them by clicking here.
(Please note, because we're offering many of these at a
loss, we can't include free shipping for individual pieces
in this sale.)
A Gift for the Holidays
- a few pictures from our recent trip to Rome -
Last October, before coming home from our
buying trip to England, we spent a few pleasant days in
Rome. We enjoyed many of the city's most famous attractions,
ate lots of great food, and took long walks through a few of
Rome's less touristy areas.
As usual, we took scores of photographs and have assembled a
small photo journal of our trip. We invite you to click on
this picture of the Coliseum to visit our
Roman photo gallery.

The Back Page
This year we celebrated Thanksgiving an unconventional
manner with Jan's two children, Chris and Lindsey. Rather
than Thursday noon, we feasted on Friday evening, and
instead of turkey, our main ingredient was pork. We remained
faithful to the spirit of excess that marks the day by
serving several portions of vegetables, as well as soup,
salad, and dessert. For a picture and description of our
main course, click on the picture of the charcuterie with
which our evening began.
We wish you the happiest of holiday seasons. Thanks for
being a subscriber.
