An exceptionally fine miniature lidded compote in lignum vitae

The broad, shallow bowl is connected to the finely turned, circular base by a short, slender stem.

The lid and the base are decorated with precise concentric details.

The base has cracked and has been repaired, and the tiny knob atop the lid is chipped.

The lid and the bowl fit together perfectly.
