Brass traveling goblet

A lovely brass goblet with turned stem and flared bowl

Made in two pieces, threaded at the union between bowl and stem and designed to permit the bowl to be inverted over the stem, thereby reducing its size by nearly half.

Perhaps originally used as a chalice by a cleric calling at home.

Probably French, 19th century

Diameter of rim: 2”; total height: 3-1/2”
