An 18th century brass candlestick with petal base

The stepped petal base is decorated with concentric rings, as is the seamed, knopped shaft. A slender candle socket rises from the top. On the inside is a push-up ejector mechanism, intact but frozen in place. A similar pair is pictured in Eloy Koldeweij’s The English Candlestick, 1425 – 1925, CAT. 113.
