Tall, hand-painted Satsuma vase with raised gold decoration

A beautiful, tall ceramic vase decorated in orange, blues and greens with hand-painted scenes featuring human and botanic images.

Dots and outlines have been added in gold paint, in characteristic moriage style. It has a crackle type glaze to the pottery, and signs of use.

There is a signature on the base and a triangular repair to the neck (images below).

Japanese, most likely Meiji or Taisho period, circa 1870-1920

Dimensions: 18" high; 4” at the rim and the base; 7" at the widest point.
