An attractive turned pot in fruitwood with shaped base and articulated form. It was made in three interlocking sections, the lower two intended to hold spices or another leafy or powdery substance. The sections are joined by screw threads turned in the wood. The form is quite delightful, with stepped turnings at base and lid and an understated ring around the mid-section, echoed in the double rings that adorn the top of the lid.

English, ca. 1850
