17th century bronze mortar

A bronze mortar with a circular base, a cylindrical body with flared mouth, and an outwardly raised base. The outside of the body is decorated with a series of balustraded forms in relief, derived from the usual ribs, typical of this type of piece since Gothic time.

English or Spanish, 17th century or earlier
