A diminutive, studded dome-top trunk

A lavishly decorated little box, covered in worn, tan velvet, tightly fitted to the outer surface and secured by small brass bosses along each edge of the trunk. Patches of two different colors and a variety of shapes are applied to the background and outlined with additional brass bosses. Two forged iron handles are applied to the sides. The effect is quite pleasing.

The interior is covered with printed calico, some of which is lost. The lid is hinged with a pair of brass butts. The condition of the wood, the fabric covering, and the brasses is very good.
