Beautifully crafted and in excellent condition, this early cutlery combines style and utility. The long, scimitar-shaped knives and the sharply pointed two-tine forks are fitted with hallmarked, shaped, and decorated silver pistol handles. The set is completed with five large silver plate spoons with rat-tail handles. All are in very good condition.

In our opinion, this wonderful cutlery should be used in the home. We own no “steak knives”; our personal knives of this era are more than adequate for the task. And the sharp points on the forks will spear small vegetables most effectively. One caution: not dishwasher safe. Hand washing is required.

Used thoughtfully, this cutlery will give decades of pleasure.

English, 18th century, with 19th century spoons

Length of knives: 10 ¾”; of forks: 8”; of spoons: 6 ¾”
