A late 17th century bell base candle holder

A fine example of this classic form. The cast and turned stem screws into the broad base, which serves also as a drip pan. The circular holes in the candle socket give access to the spent candle, facilitating extraction.

Excellent form and in good condition, with slight abrasion to the base.
