An early bronze chamber stick

One of several exciting finds in London last month. This, a small chamber stick with deep drip pan and solid, detachable candle socket. This form became very popular during the late 18th century and usually has a small handle extending from the pan. One can easily see the place where a knob or handle was secured, but it is gone. Outstanding deep patina and beautiful form make this the best chamber stick we’ve ever owned.
