An early brass candlestick with petal base

A classic mid-18th century candlestick, with a stepped petal base and a pleasingly knopped, seamed shaft that is peened into the base. Lovely form and excellent condition. A nearly identical candlestick is pictured in Eloy Koldeweij’s The English Candlestick, 1425 – 1925, CAT. 102.
