A carved feather bed smoother in old paint

Made to be used routinely in a humble household, this tool has a turned handle and an elongated, square body. Except for the handle, the back has lost its original paint, but the face and sides still wear a warm red. The carving of this pine board is quite lovely and well-executed. The old string support is worn, but intact. A rare find.
