A portable brass goblet

An ingenious and fascinating object, probably from the transportable gear of a cleric’s baggage, used perhaps in administering the sacraments to a home-bound believer. The two halves, stem and bowl, are threaded to be assembled alternately in its useable or transportable forms. We’ve had several, but the flared bowl seems to be unique.
