A compact candlestick with a stepped, octagonal base with drip pan and a short shaft with baluster turnings. A tenon extending from the bottom of the shaft has been inserted into the base and then tightly peened. The bottom of the shaft is threaded with a coarse screw that secures the stem to the base. The stick is in very good condition, but for a small split in the base which lends a slight tilt to the shaft, and a small casting flaw in the socket.

Low Countries, ca. 1680

Base: 4 ¾” X 4 ¾”; Height: 5 ½”
