A lovely Regency kingwood tea caddy

Dressed in a beautifully figured veneer and compact in form, this is an exceptionally attractive caddy. The large, veneered areas are framed in a fine satinwood stringing, and two brass handles, each in the form of a basket of fruit, embellish the sides. The underside of the lid is dressed in a rich red velvet and decorated with four tufted tassels. Supports in the four corners of the bins tell us that they were once fitted with lids.
