Often referred to as “Stiegel-type” glass, pieces of this kind were probably imported from Germany or Switzerland. Quite apart from the remnants of enamel that it still carries, the dish has an interesting applied(?) glass rim around its perimeter, and a mound-like extension of its pontil in its center.
Probably Continental, 18th century
Diameter: 10”
Price: $125
