A classic 17th-century one-drawer table with clean lines and simple design.

Its two-board top is decorated on three sides with a subtly moulded thumbnail edge, and its four legs are each of gunbarrel form, with simple spools turned at the upper and lower blocks.

The legs are joined near the floor with unembellished stretchers, and each terminates in a turned foot.

The drawer face was originally fitted with batwing pulls, then later by a central wooden pull.

It is now fitted with brass drops that are hung from the two outer holes of the original batwings.

The table has particularly good color and is in very good condition.

English, ca. 1690
