Large, period oak gateleg table

A good-looking table with comfortable seating for as many as six. The eight carved supports are turned in an interesting urn-and-ball form, and the six legs terminate on small thistle feet.

This table has been well-used through the centuries, and one of its stretchers has been replaced. The top has been reinforced with four cleats on its underside. These are attached with screws and could easily be removed.

Despite its repairs, the table is both attractive and sturdy. Its price reflects its condition and offers lots of seating for very little money.

English, ca. 1670
