A compact console table with six drawers and brass hardware

Simple in form, this joined table has six small drawers, arranged in two rows and each with a moulded face to which has been applied a brass bale handle. The paneled construction was used in all four sides, and the piece is painted the rich red that one associated with these forms.

The piece is in very good condition. There is evidence of minor restoration by a master carpenter, probably in China.
