A lovely riviere necklace with 17 cushion-cut amethyst paste stones, which have been open set in gilt metal.
Each of the set stones is attached to the next with links on each side, top and bottom, which help keep the stones flat and stable.
The repoussé clasp with a push-in tongue has a strong click, and there is a guard chain for added security.
The length is 14 ½”, and is unmarked, most likely English, ca. 1830.
