A 17th-century coin minted during the rule of Charles II, who reigned from 1660 - 1685. This early coin is dated 1681, with his image on one side and the date and entwined C’s, the monogram of Charles II, on the other. The coin was circulated, and is therefore worn. It has been saved and is mounted in a basket type, open-work setting in silver. The back of the 4mm back shank is undecorated. The face of the coin is just over ¾”, and the ring size is 8 ½ - ¾, allowing you to wear history. A great find!
