Queen Anne* floral garnet pendant

Stunning 18th century garnet round pendant.

The 36 flat-cut almandine garnets are flat cut, with a single facet at the girdle and foil back creating a beautiful color in every stone. The reverse shows the typical pillow back setting typical of this period. The original mounting is gilded metal. It has pleasing floral design with two halos which accent the inner central four- teardrop shaped petaled flower.

The pendant measures 1 ¼ inches in diameter and has been fitted with a later a gilt chain with a plunger clasp, The necklace measures 18 inches overall.

 The pendant is in good condition for its 270-year history.
