Georgian era Portuguese (Iberian) rock crystal quartz articulated pendant in silver, set with faceted, natural colorless rock crystals, foiled, and in closed-back settings. A bow-knot mid-section links the crowned diamond shaped cluster with halo at the top, and a teardrop shaped halo below with three stone pendant drop inside and terminates with an inverted three-stone crown at the bottom. The pendant measures 3” long, ¾” wide at the widest point and has the original reverse fitting. Quite a spectacular pedant from the Georgian era, most likely once an earring, circa 1780, now suspended from a 24” silver Belcher chain of the period.
Iberian, ca. 1780
