A beautiful Portuguese cluster-set ring in silver, which is typical of those created in the mid-to-late 1700's. In the shape of a rounded navette, the head measures 1 ⅛" x ⅞" and has been closed-back set and foiled with a central oval faceted diamond (clear) paste stone (9x14mm). This stone is enclosed in a double halo of two sizes of faceted diamond paste stones, each with a square table; the smaller stones are near the center and the larger stones at the outer edge.

A silver bifurcated shank, which most likely replaced one in gold, is attached at the shoulders, and the double band continues across the back of the shank.

There are nibbles to a few stones in the halo. This ring was purchased in England and is stunning on the hand! It is currently a size 8.
