Stunning color in this pair of early Georgian period pendant drop earrings of flat-cut almandine garnet pastes.

Closed-back set and foiled stones in silver with graceful gold shepherd’s crook earwires, which go in from the front of the ear.

The top section is a cluster rondelle with a round starburst faceted center and a 10-stone flat-cut halo.

The pendant drops by a tongue and features a teardrop or pear-shaped faceted stone, also having a 10-stone halo.

The verso of each setting has a rounded back, or belly, typical of jewels of this period.

These beautiful earrings measure 1 ½” overall from the top of the earwires, and the widest point on the teardrop pendant is 9/16”.

Portuguese in origin; purchased in England.

Glorious earrings!
