A stunning pair of large English ‘Queen Anne’ period oval blue sapphire paste earrings, closed-back, foiled and crimped-set in bezels in an amazing blue color. These are beautifully faceted stones, measuring 14x17mm, and the verso has a domed back as is typical of the era. The earrings are fitted with graceful, gold shepherd’s crook earwires, which go in from the front of the ear.

They measure 1” overall from the top of the earwires.

Though Queen Anne reigned 1702 – 1714, the style of jewelry created after her passing is generally referred to as ‘Queen Anne.’
