Queen Anne rose-cut amethyst paste dogtooth pendant

A truly classic English so-called “Queen Anne”* (mid-18th century) silver dogtooth-mounted rose-cut, faceted amethyst paste (24mm in its setting), which has been transformed into a pendant at some time in the past. It is now suspended on a strand of freshwater pearls (7mm) of a silvery hue. The strand is clasped either by tying it together with a ribbon through the links at the end or using a silver “S” hook as the clasp. It is 18 ½” in length. Perfectly lovely…

*Though Queen Anne reigned from 1702 – 1714, the style of jewelry created after her passing was noted as ‘Queen Anne.’
