A splendid drop pendant created in the 1700’s naturalistic taste for light and elegant jewelry; openwork settings using relatively small stones in the form of flowers and foliation was very fashionable. The flowers on this exceptional pendant are closed-back set with four flat-cut garnet petals and wired pearl centers. Dropped from this section is a garnet six-petaled flower with a pearl center on a gold openwork design. This is suspended from a gold chain with a gold plunger clasp is attached at the corners of the bow-knot.

The length of the necklace is 15 ¼”. The pendant measures 2” at its widest point and is 2 7/16” top to bottom. Lovely and unusual!
