Such a sweet lizard/salamander pendant, in sterling silver and closed-back set with emerald green faceted paste stones along his head and body, his legs and tail are decorated, and his solid belly is marked sterling, he measures 1 ½” long. A fine silver chain is attached to his head and tail, measures 18”.

Our lizard is reminiscent of the emerald-set lizard found in the ‘Cheapside Hoard’ a stunning collection of Elizabethan and Jacobean jewelry discovered in 1912 beneath one of London’s streets named Cheapside, where it had lain, undisturbed from when it was buried nearly 300 years ago.
