This glorious rivière necklace, created in silver, has 22 closed-set, oval, faceted amethyst paste stones, and has a silver flat hook clasp. English, Georgian, ca. 1820-30; 16 ¼” overall; each closed-back set stone in the necklace is 9 x 11 mm and has the rounded belly backs so often seen on Georgian jewelry. Translated from the French word for river, these necklaces looked like reflections of moving water over stones. This rivière is in lovely condition. Simply stunning ~
