A beautiful Georgian rose-cut diamond giardinetti ring  ~ giardinetti - Italian for "little garden". These floral-themed jewels reflect the mid-1700s taste for elegant Rococo designs, giardinetti rings - sometimes asymmetrical, sometimes quite balanced - typically feature diamonds, occasionally small colored gemstones. These rare pieces were designed to complement floral fabrics in vogue in the mid to late 1700s. This is a lovely example of the giardinetti ring. It has a flower and leaf arrangement spray set with thirteen rose-cut diamonds, the whole blossoming out of a large (5mm) rose-cut diamond crimp-set ‘vase’. All diamonds are closed-back set in silver top/gold backed settings. The ring is English, currently a size 7 with a gold shank, and is stunning!
