A gorgeous Georgian 15k gold and silver ring, which has been closed-back bezel-set and crimped in gold with a beautiful oval foiled, faceted ruby (sight 7 x 8mm). There are four old-cut diamonds: two are 3mm, two are 2mm, all set silver-topped, two at each shoulder, the whole mounted in a gold rayed, or basket-backed verso. At the shoulders there is a feather design, followed by a single central reed on the shank which flows to the other shoulder. The faceted ruby in this ring is quite lovely. English, ca. 1790-1810, and measures size 5 ½ on our grooved mandrel. A stunning, regal ring.
