A lovely  Georgian silver diamond paste giardinetti* brooch in the form of a pierced basket filled with flowers. Bright and sparkling, there is a pin stem catch which goes into a cone-shaped clasp.

*Georgian giardinetti - Italian for "little garden". These floral-themed jewels reflect the mid-1700s taste for elegant Rococo designs. Giardinetti rings - sometimes asymmetrical, sometimes quite balanced - typically feature diamonds, occasionally small colored gemstones. These rare pieces were designed to complement floral fabrics in vogue in the mid to late 1700s.
