"Love conquers all."

Eros, in Greek mythology, was the Greek god of love; his Roman counterpart was Cupid.

This is an amazing undulating, hand-carved shell cameo.

It is bezel-set, then treated as though it were a painting, and set in a decorated and pierced swept frame. The effect is wonderful!

The verso has a c-curl catch and a pin stem, as well as a hanging hook so that a drop may be suspended from the bottom.

This early piece measures 1-3/4" X 2"

There is a stress line across the verso one corner; the face is undamaged.
