Painted in shades of gray with but a few ochre highlights, this is an inspired winter landscape. Clouds fill the sky, and the snow-covered ground invites us to enter the scene.

The painting is signed and titled on the back of the stretcher and is also signed on the lower right.

Bigelow lived in Manhattan; we estimate this painting to date from mid-20th century.
