A pair of tall brass candlesticks with fluted candle sockets

An elegant pair of candleholders with square, stepped bases and pleasingly shaped shafts. The hollow shafts and remnants of cork in the base indicate that they were once fitted with a pushup mechanism, but this is missing, but the sticks are fine without them.
