A small oak panel decorated with nulling

An early fragment taken from a joined piece.

The unevenness of the carving suggests that this small panel may have been part of a much larger structure, perhaps a paneled wall.

In the back of the panel, each edge is chamfered for fitting into a frame of rails and stiles. The uneven break at the left end might indicate that the panel was recycled from an earlier application.

Good color and condition.
