Small, turned brass lamp

We spotted this beautifully shaped and simply decorated brass object on a table at a fair in England last spring.

Only when we picked it up and opened it did we discover the long woven wick illustrating that it was an oil lamp.

An interesting addition to a collection of lighting or of miniatures.
