Four small sterling spoons, each with elaborately decorated handles and monogram “B” at the top. The hallmarks indicate that the spoons were manufactured between 1788 and 1809, and the makers’ marks vary from spoon to spoon. The consistent monogram suggests that they were part of a set acquired over the course of a decade. We’ve been able to determine that the artisans of the GS/WF monogram were George Smith and William Fearn, who had a shop in London.
London, 1788 – 1809
