The back of the barn that came with our house. The first bank assessor who came to discuss the small mortgage we requested, dismissed it as "a liability". (We dismissed him, as well.)

This photograph, taken by Karl Johnson, author of 50 Barn Cupolas, will be included in a second book, which will illustrate New England barns that no longer stand. Ironically, the white ca. 1830 farmhouse that appears partially on the left margin, was destroyed by fire about twenty years ago.

If you've never read about our restoration of the house and barn, you might want to CLICK HERE. The barn features prominently in Chapters 2, 10, 1nd 11.
