The next step was the laying down of several hundred tons of waste stone from a nearby quarry, which formed the firm base for the future road.

As work progressed, great care was taken to ensure that water would flow away from the finished road, without eroding it.

On July 2, 2005, the property saw its first big social event, a Fourth of July picnic with our close friends, Geoffrey and Kathryn.
