Virginia Strom Precourt traveled throughout Asia, often in the company of colleagues from the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston. She always kept a small sketchbook at hand, along with a selection of colored markers (to capture the moment) and a camera (to record the details). When she returned to her studio, a pencil sketch was the first step in the development of a larger piece of art.
